Second Annual Columbia County Faceoff Against Cancer Lacrosse Event Benefiting The HEADstrong Foundation To Be Held March 4-5

PHILADELPHIA — On March 4th and 5th, high school lacrosse teams from across Georgia, South Carolina and Florida will gather in Columbia County, Georgia for the second annual Faceoff Against Cancer lacrosse event benefiting the HEADstrong Foundation. 

Starting at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 4th, 12 high school boys teams will play a round robin tournament over two days at Blanchard Woods Park in Evans, Ga., while seven girls teams will play at Patriots Park in Grovetown, Ga., starting Friday at 5 p.m.

The field will feature three boys programs from Florida- Gulf Breeze, IMG Academy and Maclay, four from South Carolina – Bishop England, Chapin, Waccamaw and Wando, and six from Georgia – Benedictine, Greenbrier, King’s Ridge Christian, Lakeside and North Gwinnett. 

On the girls side, the field will feature four programs from South Carolina – Chapin, Dutch Fork, Socastee and Waccamaw, and four from Georgia – Greenbrier, Lakeside and Richmond Hill. 

Each team is fundraising to support the efforts and mission of the HEADstrong Foundation and to support a local family in their battle against cancer. At the inaugural event in 2021, over $17,000 was raised to support HEADstrong’s mission. For more information or to donate to a team, click HERE
