Onondaga Community College

Back on Oct. 16, Onondaga Community College – the 2011 NJCAA men’s lacrosse championship winners – gathered for the program’s fall alumni game, which was accompanied by a ceremony to present the members of the most recent team with their 2011 title rings.

At that event, the players also payed their respects to the HEADstrong Foundation by wearing lime green shooting shirts. The concept was an extension Division II’s Adelphi sporting HEADstrong shirts during the 2011 DII title game. Former Adelphi attackman and current assistant Tommy Susko and his family purchased 40 lime green shirts for the Panthers to wear at M&T Bank Stadium.

Tommy’s brother, Nick, is a freshman attackman at Onondaga Community College, a team that won its fifth NJCAA title in spring, defeating CCBC-Essex 12-9. It was Onondaga’s third consecutive championship win. Tommy thought it would be a good idea to have custom shirts made for the Lazers’ fall celebration. It gave the Lazers a slightly different look than their normal carolina, navy and white color scheme.
