Maryland Lacrosse Commit Chase Mullins is Making an Impact On and Off The Field

Coming off an incredible sophomore lacrosse season at St.Christopherโ€™s School in Richmond, Virginia, Chase Mullins is looking to continue making an impact but this time not on the lacrosse field. Mullins decided to start a โ€œFace Off Against Cancerโ€ fundraiser, pledging his lax stats for families affected by cancer; a reality that hits close to home for the Mullins family.

In 2006, Chaseโ€™s Aunt Allison passed away after a short but hard fought battle with leukemia. Growing up Chase had a strong relationship with her and after her passing he wanted to help out however he could.ย

โ€œSo I always wanted to help her in some way, I couldnโ€™t really donate money at the time because I was really young, didnโ€™t have a job, and just didnโ€™t have money or means. This fundraiser was the way that I could contribute in her memory.โ€ remarked Chase.

Mullins first learned about HEADstrong the same way many other athletes before him have, the infamous lime green shoe laces. He attended the Face Off Academy where he learned more about the fundraising opportunities within HEADstrong and the lacrosse community and he jumped at the chance to give back.ย ย ย

His Face Off Against Cancer fundraiser has raised over $700 months before the season even starts, and just like his lacrosse career, itโ€™s off to a hot start.ย

The University of Maryland commit may only be a Junior in high school but is mature well beyond his years and saw his platform in the lacrosse community as the perfect vehicle to help make an impact for the greater good.ย

โ€œHe has a rare ability to take something that he loves and make it different and itโ€™s nice to see that he is embracing that, not everybody would do that. Iโ€™m very proud of the young man that he is becoming on and off the field.โ€ Said his mom Jill.ย
