HEADstrong Foundation Named Community Hero By Phillies Charities, Inc.

PHILADELPHIA — The HEADstrong Foundation is proud to announce that it has been chosen as a community hero by Phillies Charities, Inc., the charitable arm of the Philadelphia Phillies. As one of 37 charitable organizations selected from across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware as well as near the Phillies minor league affiliates in Clearwater, Reading and Lehigh Valley, HEADstrong will receive a $35,000 grant.

“I am incredibly grateful to Phillies Charities, Inc. for selecting the HEADstrong Foundation as a community hero,” HEADstrong President Cheryl Colleluori said. “The fact that this incredible team believes in our mission means everything and this grant will enable us to continue to impact the lives of so many affected by cancer.”

Collectively, Phillies Charities, Inc. will be awarding $2.1 million in grants to area charities who are going above and beyond to provide vital resources to those in need. Many of the community heroes, including HEADstrong, were recognized at the team’s Holiday Giving Party on Thursday, November 30th at Citizens Bank Park and will be honored on-field prior to the game on April 15th when the Phillies take on the Colorado Rockies.

“We are honored to award $2.1 million in grants to outstanding organizations who provide much-needed services to our community, thanks to the support of our fans, players and their wives/significant others, front office employees and sponsors,” said Phillies Charities, Inc. President John Weber. “We tip our caps to all of our grant recipients for going above and beyond in helping those who need it most.”
