HEADstrong Foundation Introduces The Relentless 27 Run
(PHILADELPHIA, PA – June 13, 2023) – The HEADstrong Foundation, a Philadelphia-area based non-profit organization established to improve lives affected by cancer, is proud to announce the Relentless 27 Run, in which Team HEADstrong ambassador Ian Farley will be running 1,175 miles up the Eastern Seaboard in support of the foundation and its mission.
“I am very excited to be partnering with HEADstrong for the Relentless 27 Run,” Farley said. Being a part of the lacrosse community, I heard about Nick’s story back in 2011 when I was in college at Sacred Heart University where our team got involved in Lax Stache Madness. Learning about how relentless and selfless he was is truly unbelievable. HEADstrong has made a massive impact on many lives and it encouraged me to want to get involved. I wanted to do something physically and mentally challenging to honor Nick’s relentlessness while also helping as many lives as I can.”
Farley, the head men’s lacrosse coach at Mount Saint Mary College, will be running for 27 consecutive days, beginning on July 31st, along the East Coast Greenway, starting in Mount Pleasant, SC and ending in New York, NY. Averaging 45 miles a day, he will wrap up the run by participating in the NYC Ice Cream Social Half Marathon on August 26th.
An ambassador for Team HEADstrong, the foundation’s official endurance fundraising team, Farley is an avid runner who wanted to do something different to support HEADstrong this summer.
