HEADstrong Foundation Creates Corporate Challenge To Take On Cancer In Region
(PHILADELPHIA, PA – March 30, 2022) – The HEADstrong Foundation, a Philadelphia-area based non-profit organization established to improve lives affected by cancer, is launching Philly Takes On Cancer on Monday, April 4. This city-wide corporate challenge’s goal is to engage businesses in its mission of aiding local families and those displaced to the region in pursuit of advanced cancer care.
“Philly Takes on Cancer is an opportunity for local businesses to take community engagement, civic leadership and charitable giving to the next level,” said HEADstrong President Cheryl Colleluori. “Navigating cancer is incredibly challenging for thousands of families through treatment as well as new and increased expenses. With this campaign we hope to engage Philadelphia-based businesses to go ‘HEAD to HEAD’ against their peers and competitors and drive pledges for families that are battling.”
Businesses can register to participate, engage and empower their employees and make a difference in the community beginning on Monday, April 4 by visiting PhillyTakesOnCancer.com.
Funds raised through the month-long campaign will directly support HEADstrong programs as it tries to meet the overwhelming demand that families affected by cancer face on a daily basis. This includes increasing financial assistance to families in the region by more than 40%, funding 2,555 days and nights at Nick’s House for families that are displaced to Philadelphia for treatment and much more.
In addition to helping members of the community that are struggling, participants in Philly Takes On Cancer will have the opportunity to compete for great company-wide prizes. Top company prizes include corporate talks with speaker, author and entrepreneur David Meltzer and CEO quarterback Ron Jaworski as well as a “Power of Fun” pep talk from mascot extraordinaire Dave Raymond.
Founded in 2007 by the late Nicholas Colleluori, the HEADstrong Foundation is relentless in improving the quality of life for those affected by cancer with financial, emotional and residential support including Nick’s House.
