HEADstrong Continues Vision

The HEADstrong Foundation has taken new leaps in fulfilling the mission of its founder, Nick Colleluori, the Hofstra lacrosse player who in 2006 lost a 14-month battle with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and whose family has worked tirelessly to find a cure for blood cancer in his name.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I think this would become something so powerful and well-known and respected,” said Cheryl Colleluori, who carries out Nick’s vision along with her husband, Pat, and sons Michael and Pat Colleluori Jr. “We’re just a mom and dad, blue-collar people who love our kids.”

HEADstrong’s latest project, Nick’s House, is a giant leap. The Colleluoris will host the grand opening of Nick’s House on Sept. 27, and it will provide free housing for families of patients who are receiving treatment for blood cancer at Philadelphia-area hospitals.
