Former Hofstra Women’s Lax Standout Albright Named To HEADstrong’s Fundraising Team

HOLMES, PA – The HEADstrong Foundation is proud to announce the addition of former Hofstra women’s lacrosse standout Taylor Albright to their fundraising and development team.  Albright will implement campaigns and team fundraising specific to collegiate women’s lacrosse.  She will serve as liaison to the IWLCA in helping to raise awareness and support surrounding HEADstrong’s mission of improving quality of life for those affected by cancer.

Albright was the 2013 recipient of the Nick Colleluori Unsung Hero Award presented by Hofstra University.  As a member of the Pride, Albright was a three-time CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award recipient.  Albright is an athlete who epitomized the philanthropic spirit of Nick and was on the forefront of the many charitable endeavors undertaken by the Hofstra Department of Athletics during her time at the university.  Her unyielding commitment to serving others truly resonated with the Colleluori family, who serves at the helm of the HEADstrong Foundation, and Albright was added to the staff to strengthen HEADstrong’s presence, involvement and efforts through the women’s game.

“I was honored in 2013 when I was named the recipient of the Nick Colleluori Award at Hofstra, today I can say that I am truly humbled to officially be part of Nick’s legacy as a the Team Fundraising Coordinator for women’s lacrosse.  I am thrilled to have the opportunity to build upon and champion HEADstrong’s mission in the women’s game.  My hope is complement HEADstrong’s efforts by bringing the same passion, enthusiasm and relentlessness exuded by the Colleluori family every day.  HEADstrong is changing lives around the country affected by cancer, none more significant to the game as Villanova’s Kathleen O’Connor who is battling Lymphoma.  My goal is to shed light on the prevalence of cancer in our athletic community and empower female athletes to make a difference on behalf of the cause.” – Taylor Albright

Albright will lead HEADstrong’s GO LIME campaign, a new campaign focused on raising awareness and funds to support heroes and families battling the disease as well as women’s lacrosse fundraising.  GO LIME seeks to unite the athletic community in support of those devastated by cancer by empowering programs to make a difference with 3 ways to GO LIME this season:

HEADstrong Foundation serves as a vital resource to families affected by cancer.  From diagnosis to a hopeful remission, HEADstrong plays a critical role every step of the way.  The organization was conceived by Hofstra lacrosse player Nicholas Colleluori in wake of his terminal diagnosis of non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  Colleluori’s public fight from the sidelines captivated the nation and from his hospital bed he created an organization focused on empowering student-athletes to improve lives affected by the disease.  His vision was simple yet critical; helping real families when they needed it most, providing support so that families may live with a greater dignity and normalcy.  Colleluori fought to improve the inpatient experience, the affordability and accessibility of care and tackled the general concerns facing the patient population.  Understanding the ripple effect and impact that a cancer diagnosis had on a family, Colleluori championed efforts to support caregivers and capital projects to improve accommodations

HEADstrong invests more than $.90 of every dollar into a service offering 100% committed to improving the quality of life for families affected by cancer.  The organization has assisted more than 14,000 families having allocated more than $10 million in aid.  GO LIME, is a perfect way for athletic programs to get involved this season.
