Infusing the core values of the HEADstrong Foundation, camp organizers Michael Colleluori and Brian Neary have created an amazing camp experience for lacrosse players looking to elevate their level of play. Pairing the highest level of lacrosse instruction with life skills and service, the organization hopes to share HF founder Nicholas Colleluori’s vision of empowering athletes to make a difference in their communities.

In an effort to further enhance the camp experience, HEADstrong has teamed up with LaSalle College High School in Wyndmoor, PA as well as Total Turf in Pitman, NJ to provide the perfect summer lacrosse camp experience. HEADstrong’s Total Turf Camp and Shore Camp will both feature a girls component led by Meagan DiCave, Virginia Wesleyan Women’s Head Coach and Jenn Willis, Albright College Women’s Head Coach.

Supporting the effort is a dedicated staff comprised of current and former professional and collegiate lacrosse players, many whom have played competitive lacrosse for the HEADstrong Lacrosse Club™. HEADstrong’s personalized approach to lacrosse instruction focuses on all aspects of the game with both individual instruction and group/team skills. This year, LaSalle College High School Varsity Coach Bill Leahy and Academy of New Church Varsity Coach Rob Forster have also joined the bench of instructors. Instructors will represent the following universities and colleges: Albright College, University of Delaware, Drexel University, Hofstra University, Loyola College, Marquette University, Penn State, Syracuse University and Virginia Wesleyan.

The goal of HEADStrong Lacrosse Camps is to assist in the transitioning of a player from good to great by providing qualified instruction with a 10:1 camper to counselor ratio. Players will learn fundamentals of individual, group and team lacrosse skills in a positive atmosphere.

Players will learn the fundamental aspects of dodging, passing, catching, shooting, individual defense, goalie play and face-off technique. In addition, players will learn team skills such as team offense, team defense, riding, clearing and transition play. There will also be guest appearances from professional lacrosse players as well as cancer survivors who will share their stories with campers.
Campers will receive a HEADstrong Lax Tank, Laces and Sack Pack and will have the chance to win amazing prizes from Warrior and Brine.

“From the time he was child, our Nick had always wanted to be a teacher and youth lacrosse coach. His desire to be a positive in the community was only fueled during his battle with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Sensing his time was short Nick created a way through the HEADstrong Foundation to inspire athletes throughout the country. Our summer camp series is a way to share the invaluable lessons that he taught us both on and off the playing field. Our staff is comprised of those who have followed in his footsteps and are playing the game at its highest levels and like Nick believe in giving back. Participating in these camps will allow us the ability to help those who are dealing with the hardships and realities of cancer. As a parent, I am very proud to what my boys have built in the game of lacrosse, my hope is that your children will be inspired to pick up the ball where our Nick left off.” Says Cheryl Colleluori, HEADstrong President and Nick’s Mom
