Liv is 19 years old from Brooklawn, NJ. Liv was diagnosed with ovarian cancer as a senior in high school. Soon after graduation, Liv had her right ovary and fallopian tube removed. After weeks of healing, Liv was getting her life back on track, working and going to college. Later, Liv learned her cancer had spread to her liver and that she needed chemotherapy, causing her to withdraw from college and take a leave from work. On her first day of treatment, Drs found out she was in kidney failure putting her treatment on hold while she had stents put into her kidneys. After lots of infections and hospital stays – she finally started chemo, taking it like a champ. After 4 rounds of chemo, Liv’s doctors discovered the chemo was not working — new tumors and some of the old tumors had grown. With this devastating setback, Liv has held her head high and began a different chemo. She has now just completed her second round. While this chemo is kicking her butt, she remains strong and positive.
Alexa is a 22 year old college graduate from Rowan University. She was a student-athlete, and played volleyball during her time there. She found out about her diagnosis of Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma during mid November of 2024, and shortly after started chemo on December 13. Alexa hit a couple of bumps in the road including an infection that caused a postponed treatment and some severe symptoms that caused modified treatment. She officially hit her halfway point of chemotherapy on March 3rd, as that was her 6th treatment! She continues to push forward with strength and a positive outlook, focusing on the progress she has made rather than the hardships. Surrounded by support and hope, she is determined to beat cancer and embrace the future ahead.
