Britons Dedicate Home Opener

Britons Support HEADstrong Foundation

The Albion College Men’s Lacrosse Team dedicates Home Opener (March 17th) to the HEADstrong Foundation. The Britons rocked lime green t-shirts during pre-game warm-ups and under their uniforms in support of the HEADstrong Mission. Founded by Nicholas Colleluori, a Division I lacrosse player who was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, during his playing career at Hofstra University, the HEADstrong Foundation advocates, fundraises and supporting those affected by blood cancer.

Lime green is recognized as the national awareness color denoting non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Colleluori believed that the vibrancy of lime green made a powerful statement while conveying unspoken meaning. In 2005, while being wheeled into procedure Colleluori began to sketch what was to become HEADstrong Foundation’s official logo, he elected the color lime green to be the platform to which the foundation would be created on.

Since its inception in 2006 the HEADstrong Foundation has utilized the color lime green to signify awareness and represent the patients, survivors and victims of blood cancer.
