5,000 Steps For Families Affected by Cancer: 5th Annual Run the Park Challenge Set For Sept. 23
On Sunday, Sept. 23, the HEADstrong Foundation will present the 5th Annual Run The Park Challenge. This is an event for the entire family, featuring a challenging 5K race that takes runners on a scenic tour of historic Ridley Park and a 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk. Proceeds from the event will stay local, supporting the mission of the HEADstrong Foundation, as well as a 16-year-old boy from Broomall who is currently fighting cancer. The event is held annually in memory of HEADstrong founder Nicholas “HEAD” Colleluori.
Early registration prior to Sept. 1 is encouraged. Pre-registered 5K runners will receive a commemorative event performance shirt, fanny pack and post-event swag bag. Registration details are listed below.

WHO: Run The Park is an event for the entire family that includes a 5K Race open to participants at least 12 years of age and a 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk open to all ages.
WHEN: Sunday, September 23, 2018 (Rain or Shine)
7:30 a.m. — Check-In Opens
8:30 a.m. — Dynamic Warm-up
9:00 a.m. — Run The Park 5K Start
9:15 a.m. — 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk Start
WHERE: Ridley Park Lake, Constitution Terrace, Ridley Park, PA 19078
WHY: To help REAL FAMILIES devastated by the overwhelming costs of cancer, to provide lodging to families traveling to the Philadelphia area for comprehensive cancer treatment, to enhance inpatient accommodations at area hospitals and to empower families to live with a greater quality of life during their journey.
