Catherine Baumann Honors HEADstrong Founder, Nick Colleluori At THON 2016

Hello there! I took part in THON 2016 held at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, PA at Penn State! I was one of the 708 dancers that danced for 46 hours no sitting, no sleeping to help find the cure of pediatric cancer and to make sure no parents will ever have to hear someone tell them that their child has cancer. Throughout all 46 hours, Nick was with me, right by my side. I wore apart of his shoe lace on my wrist and every time I looked at it, I got energy, I dug deeper for him! I wanted to share this with you because I think the HEADstrong Foundation is incredible and I know you first handling experienced and see children and family’s affected by this ugly monster and I danced and continue to dance to find a cure and to dance in celebration one day when we find it!

You may wonder how I was connect to the foundation! I was apart of the first ever girls lacrosse tournament team based out of Ridley, Megan DiCave was my coach and I was apart of the team for two years until I
graduated! It was incredible experience and I was proud to put on that jersey with the foundations name across it everyday! I was also chosen to attend the HEADstrong gala after writing an essay about Nick and
the foundation!

Thank you for inspiring me each and everyday and sharing Nicks story!!!

Best,

Catherine Baumann
