The Ward Melville girls lacrosse team is pictured before its “Headstrong Game” against Half Hollow Hills on April 27. Both the varsity and JV teams raised over $1,500 for the Headstrong Foundation – an organization to benefit research for blood cancers. In addition to raising the money, the varsity team won 15-6 on Friday night and is still the only undefeated team in Suffolk County.

All Suffolk County girls lacrosse teams are hosting “Headstrong Games” this season and together all 44 teams in Suffolk County have raised over $25,000 for the Headstrong Foundation.

Next up for the Patriots will be a home game on May 3 against East Islip. Game time is set for 4:15 pm. The team will then have two more regular season games, starting with Smithtown West on May 9 at 4:30 pm and West Babylon on May 11 at 7 pm. Both games are on the road.
