Jesuit Powerhouses Battle to Benefit HEADstrong

On Saturday May 7, 2011, DeSmet Stadium in St. Louis Missouri played host to all three (freshman, JV and Varsity) lacrosse teams from St. Louis University High School and DeSmet High School. The “Father Marco Cup” is the annual Varsity game played between these two Jesuit powerhouses. Fr. Marco has served for many years as the spiritual leaders for both the DeSmet and SLUH lacrosse teams.

This year, a cause was added to this well attended area grudge match. After learning about the HEADstrong Foundation, Jim Reichenbach (a Senior Captain from SLUH) suggested it would be fun for both teams to wear the signature lime green color while donating to our cause.

After announcing the cause to both teams, nearly 100% participation was attained at both schools, and an amazing $6432.30 was raised.

The HEADstrong Foundation would like to extend a special thank you to Father Marco, Jim and Mary Reichenbach and all others involved for their support.
