How Your Donation Helps Families Affected by Cancer This Holiday Season

At the HEADstrong Foundation, our mission throughout every season is to improve the lives of those affected by cancer. We do this in a variety of ways including volunteer work, events, fundraising efforts and giving. The holidays can be an especially hard time for patients and their families, that’s why your donation is extremely beneficial during this time. No matter what you can give, know that every donation can make a difference! Here are a few ways of how your donation directly helps the patients and families affected by cancer when you show your support throughout the HEADstrong Foundation.

Providing accessibility and affordability of care

The holidays are all about family, and with your donation you’re helping keep families together when they need it the most! Nick’s House is a guest house designed to meet the unique needs of patients, their families and caregivers, creating a home away from home this holiday season.

Bringing smiles to the hospitals

For families spending the holidays in the hospital, your generous donations bring the joys of the season to them through comfort kits, a festive meal, caroling and a special visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

Assisting with financial need

Through your donation dollars, you can help a family who may be struggling with the large financial burden that cancer bears on a family. At HEADstrong, we’ve created the Nicholas E. Colleluori Patient Financial Assistance Program where we grant financial aid to families and patients who are experiencing hardships due to a cancer diagnosis. Through this program, we have granted assistance to over 1,000 families. With your help, we can help fulfill each grant we receive every month!

Spreading Awareness

When you donate, you’re helping spread awareness not only about cancer but your loved ones who have been affected by this disease. When considering a financial gift to support the HEADstrong Foundation, you can make a donation in honor or memory of a loved one.

Fulfill a Wish List

From 13 year old Jack, who is confined to a wheelchair due to side effects from harsh treatments who just wants to return to his football team, to restoring a sense of normalcy to Michelle’s life as she recovers from her immunotherapy at Nick’s House, your donations can directly help ‘“check off” items on our fighters wish lists’.

This holiday season, we hope that the HEADstrong Foundation is on your giving list. With your support, we can give the gift of home, hope and healing to those fighting cancer.
