Hogan’s Big Game Increases His HEADstrong Pledge

Chris Hogan of the New England Patriots, who has pledged to donate money to HEADstrong for every catch, had a break out game in the AFC Championship. It makes it even sweeter for Hogan (and us) because big game he had means more donations for improving the quality of life for those affected by cancer! As he gains more popularity, his unique story of a lacrosse player turned college football player turned professional football player is captivating the nation.

Chris Hogan’s Recording Breaking Title Game

The New England Patriots squared off against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship game on January 22nd, 2017 in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Hogan caught a team-high nine catches and piled up an astounding 180 yards and two touchdowns. The 180 yards in the 36-17 New England win broke the Patriots franchise postseason record for receiving yards in a game. Legendary Patriot Deion Branch, who had 153 receiving yards in 2006 against the Denver Broncos, held the previous record.

Hogan in the News

With his break out performance, Chris Hogan has become the talk of every sports channel and radio station across the nation. From NESN, to ESPN, to New York Post, to the Washington Post, there seems to be an article on him everywhere you look. While he had a tremendous season for the Patriots, leading all Pats receivers for yards per reception with 17.9 yards, he had never had quite the game like he did that Sunday. But to the Patriots and Chris, it is no shock at all, because they know the work ethic and dedication he puts in to his craft, and his dedication to giving back to others.

Pledge to HEADstrong

The HEADstrong Foundation is proud to have a partnership with Chris Hogan this season. Founder of HEADstrong, Nicholas Colleluori, was a lacrosse player at Hofstra University when he was diagnosed with large B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. This closely relates to Chris Hogan because he was a lifelong lacrosse player and eventually played collegiately at Penn State University. As a HEADstrong Foundation athlete, Chris Hogan pledged that he would donate $15 for every catch he made this year at the beginning of his season with the New England Patriots. Before the AFC Championship Game, through 13 games, he had 33 catches, which was $495 in dollars raised. After his record-breaking performance, he now has, through 14 games, 42 catches, which increases his pledge to HEADstrong to $630 making this big game worth $135.

We’re Onto Houston

The overall number still has a chance to grow because he is heading the Super Bowl LI in Houston, Texas against the Atlanta Falcons. We expect our athlete to perform the way he is capable of again and win his first ever Super Bowl Ring. Good luck to Chris Hogan and the whole New England Patriots organization on this incredible experience and accomplishment! We also thank Chris for his kind contributions throughout the season to the HEADstrong Foundation.
