HF’s College Lacrosse Cancer Awareness Series
(Holmes, PA) – As February draws near, college lacrosse teams nationwide are gearing up to show their support for the HEADstrong Foundation (HF™). This season, men’s lacrosse teams from the American East, Big 10, Big East, CAA, Ivy and Patriot Leagues will further the HEADstrong mission of improving quality of life for cancer patients and their families by wearing HF’s iconic lime green laces, crew socks as well as other accessories during selected games this season. The awareness series is helping to promote cancer awareness by engaging some of the most influential teams in the game.
“College lacrosse season runs over the course of several cancer awareness months including: February’s Cancer Prevention Month, March’s Myeloma Awareness Month, April’s Testicular Cancer Awareness Month and May’s Cancer Research Month just to name a few. As an organization committed to changing the game for cancer patients and their families we view the opportunity to raise awareness in the game of lacrosse as our social responsibility and are honored to have so many student athletes and college programs involved with our efforts this year.” says Pat Colleluori, HF CMO and Nick’s Brother
HF’s college lacrosse cancer awareness series will officially kick-off on February 20th, with the Princeton Tigers taking on the Hofstra Pride, a game which will be nationally televised on ESPNU and will conclude with the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championships in Philadelphia, PA.

“We are fortunate and thankful to have the continued support of college lacrosse programs throughout the country. Our Nick was a sophomore at Hofstra University when he was diagnosed and I believe that this resonates with many students. Whether growing mustaches, adopting a patient, interning or showing awareness on the field, I believe that Nick’s youthful spirit lives on through the efforts of so many young people working together. We are very thankful to be endorsed by the NCAA as a charitable organization and we hope that through our efforts this upcoming season that we are able to elevate the visibility of our cause and empower today’s youth to get involved just like their idols are on the college lacrosse field.” says Cheryl Colleluori, HF President and Nick’s Mom
