HEADstrong Taps Former Delaware Wide Receiver Nijha White To Lead Football Efforts

HOLMES, PA – The HEADstrong Foundation is proud to announce the addition of former University of Delaware football standout Nijha White to their fundraising and development team. In the role, White will lead fundraising specific to high school and college football. As a former player and current coach at Malvern Preparatory School, White will serve as a liaison to the football community in helping to raise awareness and support surrounding HEADstrong’s mission of improving lives affected cancer. With HEADstrong founder Nicholas Colleluori being a former All-State nose guard at Ridley High School in Folsom, PA, HEADstrong is determined to engage the football community to join their efforts.

White is a Delaware County native and attended Conestoga High School, where he left a legacy, catching 103 passes for 2,076 yards and scoring 34 touchdowns. White took his abilities to the University of Delaware, where was a four year starter and named All-CAA Conference in 2011 and 2012. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Leadership with a concentration in Law and Public Policy. After college, he trained with the Philadelphia Eagles and then played two seasons in the Arena Football League with the Arizona Rattlers and Orlando Predators.

“I have always been driven by a higher purpose and HEADstrong is a cause that truly resonates with me. My hope is complement HEADstrong’s efforts by bringing the same passion, enthusiasm and relentlessness exuded by the HEADstrong staff every day.  HEADstrong is changing lives around the country affected by cancer, none more significant than Brody Boyer, an offensive lineman from Parkland High School in Bethlehem who is making his return to the playing field this season after battling cancer. My goal is to shed light on the prevalence of cancer in our athletic community and empower athletes to make a difference on behalf of the cause.” – Nijha White

HEADstrong Foundation serves as a vital resource to families affected by cancer.  From diagnosis to a hopeful remission, HEADstrong plays a critical role every step of the way.  The organization was conceived by Hofstra lacrosse player Nicholas Colleluori in wake of his terminal diagnosis of non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  Colleluori’s public fight from the sidelines captivated the nation and from his hospital bed he created an organization focused on empowering student-athletes to improve lives affected by the disease.  His vision was simple yet critical; helping real families when they needed it most, providing support so that families may live with a greater dignity and normalcy.  Colleluori fought to improve the inpatient experience, the affordability and accessibility of care and tackled the general concerns facing the patient population.  Understanding the ripple effect and impact that a cancer diagnosis had on a family, Colleluori championed efforts to support caregivers and capital projects to improve accommodations. HEADstrong invests more than $.90 of every dollar into a service offering 100% committed to improving the quality of life for families affected by cancer.  The organization has assisted more than 14,000 families having allocated more than $10 million in aid.  GO LIME, is a perfect way for athletic programs to get involved this season.
