HEADstrong Serves Holiday Cheer
The Power of Family, HEADstrong Serves Holiday Cheer at HUP
Philadelphia, PA – On Sunday December 16, 2012 the HEADstrong Foundation will host a pre-holiday feast for the patients, families and medical staff in the Rhoads Pavilion at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
The HEADstrong Foundation is embracing the spirit of the holidays this weekend by launching their latest service and volunteer offering, HEADtableโข. The program seeks to bring the elements of the family dinner table into the hospital in an effort to provide normalcy, while nurturing the well-being of patients battling blood cancers. Led, by the Colleluori family and dedicated group of volunteers, many who have been affected by the disease will work to transform conference rooms into dining rooms and serve a specially prepared meal.
The holiday themed feast will be served from 2:00PM-4:00PM at the Rhoads Pavilion specifically floors 3,6 and 7. In addition, to providing the meal, holiday carolers will be spreading cheer throughout the floors.
“In this season of giving it is our pleasure and privilege to introduce our latest service initiative, HEADtableโข. At HEADstrong, we are families helping families in an effort to provide support, encouragement, compassion and normalcy. As a family who has lived the realities of blood cancer, we believe in the power that comes from being together. We look forward to building on this service offering through the support of Philadelphia based corporations, restaurants, consumer products companies as well as empowering other blood cancer survivors to join our efforts. Our goal is to be able to provide this service on a regular basis to multiple medical facilities throughout the Philadelphia region. Together we can make a difference.” Cheryl Colleluori, HEADstrong President and Nick’s Mom
HEADtableโข is just one of the many ways that the HEADstrong Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization nationally headquartered in Holmes, PA is working to improve the quality of life for patients and families battling blood cancers.
