NETHER PROVIDENCE – The Taylor Community Foundation presented $98,000 in scholarship awards to 14 Delaware County high school seniors at the foundation’s 11th annual recognition reception at the Springhaven Club last month.

On Saturday, April 14, 2012, the Freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity lacrosse teams from the St. Louis University High School (http://sluhlax.teammania.net) and DeSmet Jesuit High School (http://desmetlax.com/lacrosse ) programs competed at St. Louis University High followed by a BBQ on a beautiful spring day/evening. The “Father Marco Cup” is an annual Varsity game played between the two Jesuit powerhouses from St Louis, Missouri. Father Michael Marchlewski (Fr. Marco) has served for many years teaching at both schools and has been a spiritual leader for both the DeSmet and SLUH lacrosse teams over the years.

On Tuesday night, May 8, a “Green Out” will be held at the last Ridley Boys lacrosse night game of the season. The “Green Out” is being held in an attempt to get elementary school students to come out to the game and to show their support for the lacrosse team, as well as the HEADstrong Foundation. All elementary students wearing Ridley green or a HEADstrong shirt will get in free.
