NETHER PROVIDENCE – The Taylor Community Foundation presented $98,000 in scholarship awards to 14 Delaware County high school seniors at the foundation’s 11th annual recognition reception at the Springhaven Club last month.

On Saturday, April 14, 2012, the Freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity lacrosse teams from the St. Louis University High School (http://sluhlax.teammania.net) and DeSmet Jesuit High School (http://desmetlax.com/lacrosse ) programs competed at St. Louis University High followed by a BBQ on a beautiful spring day/evening. The “Father Marco Cup” is an annual Varsity game played between the two Jesuit powerhouses from St Louis, Missouri. Father Michael Marchlewski (Fr. Marco) has served for many years teaching at both schools and has been a spiritual leader for both the DeSmet and SLUH lacrosse teams over the years.

RIDLEY TOWNSHIP – A sea of lime green flooded the streets around the Amosland Elementary School neighborhood Friday as more than 600 students, teachers, staff and parents walked to raise money for the HEADstrong Foundation.
On Tuesday night, May 8, a “Green Out” will be held at the last Ridley Boys lacrosse night game of the season. The “Green Out” is being held in an attempt to get elementary school students to come out to the game and to show their support for the lacrosse team, as well as the HEADstrong Foundation. All elementary students wearing Ridley green or a HEADstrong shirt will get in free.
Taking Strides Against Blood Cancer…HEADstrong Introduces Team HEADstart Program
Holmes, PA- In an effort to further their relentless pursuit of defeating blood cancer the HEADstrong Foundation has announced the launch of their newest initiative, Team HEADstart. The program encourages and incentivizes supporters to participate in endurance events across the country while representing and fundraising for the HEADstrong Foundation.
Holmes, PA- In an effort to raise awareness and support the HEADstrong fight against blood cancer, the Port Washington Girl’s Varsity Lacrosse Team hosted their annual Port Washington HEADstrong Lacrosse Tournament on March 17, 2012.
The Bowmen Boy’s Lacrosse team has dedicated their season to the fight against non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma…also known as blood cancer. They have teamed up with the Headstrong foundation and the Wilsonville Wildcats to help fight an aggressive and indiscriminant disease.
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women’s lacrosse team finished a 3-0 week with a 13-9 win over Shippensburg University Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action from Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
