In February, MLL named the HEADstrong Foundation as the official charity of the 2012 MLL All-Star Game. The game will serve as a vehicle to raise awareness and funds for those affected by blood cancer and will take place at FAU Stadium in Palm Beach County, FL on Saturday, June 30.

Holmes, PA- In an effort to further their commitment to advocating and promoting blood cancer awareness the HEADstrong Foundation is proud to announce that Chicago, Illinois has been selected as the first stop on their 2012 Tour For A Cure. The event is being hosted in partnership with Aloha Tournaments and the Chicago Southland Convention and Visitors Bureau.
On Saturday afternoon the Pequannock and Montville girls’ lacrosse teams met on the field in one of the better matchups in the area. Yet, the final outcome of their game took a back seat to the primary focus on the day.
Both teams’ junior varsity and varsity squads met at Dawson Field in Towaco to honor and raise funds for a national charity as well as a local one during their “Score for a Cure” event.

Northborough/Southborough – The Algonquin Regional High School boys lacrosse team has high hopes for the 2012 season. Last year they made it all the way to the Division II State Final before losing to Medfield. This year the Tomahawks are hoping to take that extra step, and, with a 6-0 start, they are well on their way. This year is different however, because the team is also playing to honor the memory of a young Southborough student who passed away in January.
Eric Green, a 12-year-old who played lacrosse in Southborough’s youth program and for the Massachusetts Vikings Select Boys Lacrosse, died suddenly from complications due to a seizure condition.
Bellport, NY- On Saturday March 24, 2012, several high school lacrosse teams from New York participated in the inaugural Clippers Fighting Cancer Shutout hosted by Bellport High School and organized by Justin White benefitting the HEADstrong Foundation. In front of a large crowd teams competed in a six-hour event on four fields at Bellport’s athletic complex. The effort was an incredible success generating over $23,000 for the HEADstrong Foundation and their relentless pursuit of defeating blood cancer
NETHER PROVIDENCE – The Taylor Community Foundation presented $98,000 in scholarship awards to 14 Delaware County high school seniors at the foundation’s 11th annual recognition reception at the Springhaven Club last month.
