Quarter 1 News From Nick’s Mom
The first quarter of 2016 been an amazing time for the HEADstrong Foundation. In March, a capacity crowd filled the ballroom at the Hilton at Penn’s Landing and helped raise more than $225,000 exceeding our expectations at the 6th annual Lime Light Gala to support the HEADstrong mission including the expansion of Nick’s House, a facility that provides complimentary lodging and amenities for families displaced to the Greater Philadelphia Region for comprehensive cancer care, transplant and clinical trials. After driving 553 miles from Wheelersburg, Ohio, we welcomed sweet 3 year old Anderson and his family to Nick’s House. Anderson loves playing with his 5 year old sister, Bella and Yo Gabba Gabba. After receiving daily treatments at CHOP to combat brain cancer, he comes home to Nick’s House to do his favorite things. He’s our superhero! Additionally, 47 families felt the impact of our founder, Nicholas as we provided financial assistance to them and the patients at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania cancer units enjoyed a movie night and a personal visit from Vince Papale.
