Former U of Delaware Standout Stoczko Takes The Reins Of HEADstrong Girls Program

Holmes, PA – The HEADstrong Lacrosse Club is proud to introduce former University of Delaware women’s lacrosse standout Amanda Stoczko as their new Pennsylvania Girls Program Director. Stoczko brings to the table a passion for winning and a resume of proven success.  She is graduate of North Penn High School as well as University of Delaware where she was a four year starter on defense and captain of the Blue Hens during her senior year.  Additionally, Stoczko has coached varsity girl’s lacrosse at Gwynedd Mercy High School and has also been involved with Coventry Youth Lacrosse over the years.

“First and foremost I want to express how honored and humbled I am to be leading the HEADstrong Girls Program.  I am eager to return to the game and champion the great mission of the HEADstrong Foundation on the competitive girl’s side of the game.”  says Stoczko

Under her direction, Stoczko hopes to give the club broader appeal while emphasizing the importance of giving back to others in the community.

“My goal is uphold the respect and integrity of the HEADstrong Foundation by taking hands on approach to fostering talent, mentoring student athletes and engaging families to create an overall amazing experience that people want to be part of.” says Stoczko

Stoczko plans to put the program on annual calendar, identifying a adding the element of offseason positional instruction, strength training and conditioning.  These plans will be executed in preparation for HLCPA’s summer 2015 campaign.

“Our hope is to redefine what it means to be part of the HEADstrong Lacrosse Club and it starts with me. I am a devoted mother first, a competitor second and a mentor third who wants to provide the best experience for young and talented lacrosse players.  I believe in surrounding our players with the most talented and supportive cast of coaches, while building relationships and collaborating with other competitive clubs in the market.” says Stoczko

This fall over 20 college women’s lacrosse programs will meet on the playing field to face-off against blood cancer in support of the HEADstrong Foundation™.  Stoczko hopes to be able to rally support and endorsements from the collegiate women’s lacrosse community for the program.

“We hope that seeing women’s lacrosse programs like Albany, Delaware, Hofstra, Penn, Siena, Stony Brook, Towson and Yale embracing the HF mission will resonate with prospective athletes and inspire them to be involved with the HEADstrong Lacrosse Club.” says Stoczko
