Cullinan Family To Memorialize Coach Pat Cullinan With Ripple Run 5K Supporting HEADstrong, April 30th

CHESTERBROOK, PA – On Sunday, April 30th the Cullinan family will present the 1st Annual Ripple Run 5K/1M to honor the life and legacy of the late Pat Cullinan.  This is an incredible event for the entire family featuring a challenging 5K race and 1 Mile Run/Walk through Wilson Park.  Proceeds from the Ripple Run will support the HEADstrong Foundation and their relentless efforts to improve lives affected by cancer.

Pat Cullinan was a teammate, coach, mentor and inspiration to several generations of lacrosse players.  A coaching career that spanned 20+ years from West Chester University to Saint Joseph’s University then to Downingtown East High School, Pat Cullinan was revered as one of the most dedicated and beloved lacrosse coaches in the region.  Pat Cullinan battled cancer relentlessly for more than 4 years before passing away on October 15, 2015.  His memory and legacy is carried on by all those that he coached and impacted.  Pat taught more than lacrosse, he taught life. “Head, Heart, and Hustle” was his motto on the field and off. As a coach he set a high standard, but to his players, he was an unsurpassed guide and example. He fought hard on the lacrosse field, and hard against the cancer that claimed him. Pat was the stone thrown into a calm pond; ripples from his presence touched everything and everyone in that pond, often bouncing off obstacles to go in another direction to touch other lives. With this Ripple Run, we will ensure he continues to shape and inspire more lives for many years to come.  To celebrate the life and legacy of Pat Cullinan his family is proud to present this amazing family friendly event.

About HEADstrong Foundation

HEADstrong Foundation serves as a vital resource to families affected by cancer.  From diagnosis to a hopeful remission, HEADstrong plays a critical role every step of the way.  The organization was conceived by Hofstra lacrosse player Nicholas Colleluori in wake of his terminal diagnosis of non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  Colleluori’s public fight from the sidelines captivated the nation and from his hospital bed he created an organization focused on empowering student-athletes to improve lives affected by the disease.  His vision was simple yet critical; helping real families when they needed it most, providing support so that families may live with a greater dignity and normalcy.  Colleluori fought to improve the inpatient experience, the affordability and accessibility of care and tackled the general concerns facing the patient population.  Understanding the ripple effect and impact that a cancer diagnosis had on a family, Colleluori championed efforts to support caregivers and capital projects to improve accommodations

HEADstrong invests more than $.90 of every dollar into a service offering 100% committed to improving the quality of life for families affected by cancer.  The organization has assisted more than 14,000 families having allocated more than $10 million in aid.
