Cocalico “Sticks It” to Blood Cancer

TUESDAY, MAY 1, 2012

The Cocalico boys lacrosse team is lacing up to raise awareness for the HEADstrong foundation.

The Cocalico boys lacrosse team is not just fighting L-L League lacrosse teams on the field; the team is lacing up and facing off against a deadly disease.

The Eagles wearing lime green laces to raise awareness for the HEADstrong foundation. A foundation started up by Ridell, PA native, and Hofstra University standout, Nick Colleluori.

Colleluori passed away due to blood cancer in November 2006. But through this foundation, his family hopes his legacy will live on. The foundation not only hopes to raise awareness for the disease, but hopes to provide financial assistance for those coping with blood cancer, provide scholarships to student athletes who want to enter the medical field, and of course help to find a cure.

Check out after the jump for more information how you can help with the cause; and with more on why the Cocalico Eagles decided to join the effort.
