Chris Moyer

On Sunday, April 26th, Chris Moyer successfully completed his first ever long distance run in honor of Nick Colleluori and the Headstrong Foundation. For the last 5 months he has been training to participate in St. Luke’s Lehigh Valley Marathon in Nick’s honor. To understand the training dedication that has been involved and put it in perspective, up until November of 2009 he had never ran over 1.5 miles. A 1/2 marathon is 13.1 miles.

Chris achieved his goal and completed the run at 1hr and 57 minutes (~ 9 minute miles). He requested that that his friends, co-workers, and relatives to support this cause and sponsor him by making a minimum donation of $25 to the Headstrong Foundation. What is his tie to this in particular foundation? Chris’s brother Brett and Nick were very close friends throughout high school and college. They played Football and Lacrosse at Ridley High School together and then both went to play Lacrosse at Hofstra University in New York.

While Nick ultimately lost his life to Lymphoma in November of 2006, he was a genuine and caring individual who touched the lives of all those who met him on and off the field.

The HEADstrong Foundation applauds Chris’ hard work in raising awareness and has received over $1,000 in donations. It is obvious that Nick has had an effect on Chris and the Foundation is so grateful to Chris for honoring Nick this way.
