Cabrini Men’s Lacrosse Facing-Off Against Blood Cancer

To Benefit HEADstrong Foundation

Holmes, PA- In an effort to raise awareness and support the fight against blood cancer Cabrini Men’s Lacrosse and Whittier Men’s Lacrosse are proud to partner with the HEADstrong Foundation during Saturday’s game to bring awareness to the organization’s fight against blood cancers.

The action is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.

The HEADstrong Foundation was started in 2005 by Ridley High School alum Nicholas “Head” Colleluori after being diagnosed with a terminal form of non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma during his sophomore year at Hofstra University.

Using his love for lacrosse as a vehicle, Colleluori spent his last 14 months sharing his experience in hopes that others would benefit from his story. Though the lost his battle with the blood cancer on November 28, 2006, his spirit lives on through the HEADstrong Foundation.

The Foundation works to advocate, fundraise and support those affected by blood cancer and those working towards finding a cure for the disease. Since 2006, the foundation has raised over $2 million in its fight against blood cancer.

“We are very grateful to have the support of Cabrini Men’s Lacrosse and Whittier Men’s Lacrosse. This event seeks to bring the local lacrosse community together to celebrate the game, honor those afflicted by blood cancer and make a difference. While the event may showcase some great competitive lacrosse, every team will have the same opponent that day; blood cancer. We wish both programs the best of luck in their 2012 season. – Michael Colleluori, HEADstrong Foundation Vice-President
