Attack Cancer With Mitchell Lloyd

St. Joseph’s Preparatory School’s motto of “Being a man for and with others,” encourages students to be men for others while also conscious of being “with” those who they reach out in service. Junior faceoff midfielder Mitchell Lloyd believes that by leading the charge in this year’s Attack Cancer campaign, he and his teammates can embody these words on and off the field.

Mitchell has participated in Face Off Against Cancer for the past several years, and when he heard he could get his team involved, he jumped on the opportunity. Mitchell has seen the impact of HEADstrong firsthand, when a teammate’s family on his club team was supported by the foundation after his father was diagnosed with cancer. He said it really opened his eyes to how many families struggle with cancer, and was thrilled when his teammates were so eager to help out. Within days they crushed their original goal of $1,000, and show no sign of stopping anytime soon. Mitchell showed appreciation for his teammates, saying “My team did so much to help us, I’m so happy to have a team of great guys. I really couldn’t have done it without them.”

Mitchell is committed to play lacrosse at the University of Maryland after he graduates next year, where he hopes to continue upholding the St. Joseph’s Prep motto.
