First Annual Alumni Lacrosse Game – Ridley High School vs. Springfield High School

This Black Friday the attention will turn from shopping malls and the best deals and steals, to the lacrosse field as the alumni game that has been long overdue will finally take place.

Two of the most historic and successful high school lacrosse programs from Southeastern Pennsylvania have assembled their alumni and will meet at iconic Phil Marion Field on the campus of Ridley High School at 1:00PM on Friday,  November 29th, 2019 with the purpose of going HEAD to HEAD to support families overcome by cancer.

The HEADstrong Foundation will be hosting the event and tickets are $5.00. All proceeds will go directly to HEADstrong to help local families affected by cancer.

This event was created with a few goals in mind and is more than just bringing back alumni to face off in what is sure to be a heated rivalry game.

Objectives of the game are to honor the past, remember those we lost, celebrate the glue that links us all together; their love of lacrosse, and lastly to make a difference.

Honoring The Past

Where would both of these amazing programs be without the dedication and support of those who gave so generously of their time, energy and resources, to give us the opportunity of lacrosse?  With that being said, we wish to celebrate their contributions, by creating an honorary opportunity through this event. In speaking with Ridley, there has been interest in honoring Doug Ellers and in speaking with Sam Adolph from Springfield, he thought Sean Duffy would be a wonderful honoree.

Investing In The Future

To have a direct and significant impact that is aligned with our core values; HEADstrong Sports, a division of the HEADstrong Foundation would like to make a contribution of new boys and girls youth lacrosse sticks to both Ridley Youth Lacrosse and Springfield Youth Lacrosse to help provide opportunity to grow the sport within each program.  This contribution plans to be annual and we hope that this will allow more access to the game for families in your communities. Our goal is to provide a game ready stick to every incoming, new class beginning in 2020 (this upcoming season)

Remember Those Who We’ve Lost

This event will pay homage and celebrate the lives and legacy of Ridley’s Nick Colleluori and Springfield’s Nick Baratelle.  We will honor them by all Ridley players taking the field wearing #27 and Springfield players wearing #14. All team reversibles will be numbered the same.  All teams will also be wearing a Flake 15 patch to honor Mike “Flake” Falasca, a former Ridley player and coach who is currently battling Multiple Myeloma.

Celebrate Our Love For The Game

This event will bring two of the foundational programs in Southeastern Pennsylvania Lacrosse and their alumni together for the first time.  These two programs will stand united and play in a friendly and competitive game.
