PHILADELPHIA — The HEADstrong Lacrosse Club is excited to announce the return of its Summer Lacrosse Camp Series.

HEADstrong will hold the following camps: June 25-28 from 5-8 p.m. at Locke Avenue Park in Swedesboro, N.J., and July 17-19 at Freeman S. Douglas Jr. Memorial Park in Lower Township, N.J. Any lacrosse player looking to elevate his or her game, while also looking for a place to be empowered to make a difference in their communities, will find that at the HEADstrong camps.

An outstanding, dedicated staff led by camp directors Michael Colleluori and Debbie White provides helps shape the experience of the HEADstrong camps. Colleluori played professionally after an All-American career at Hofstra, where he was the CAA Rookie of the Year as a freshman. White brings more than 30 years of coaching experience, including both high school and college experience at the Division I and Division III levels. The rest of the staff is made up of current and former professional and collegiate players and coaches, many of whom played for the HEADstrong Lacrosse Club.

HEADstrong Lacrosse camps aim to help all players make a sizeable leap in their game, whether they’re new to the sport or a seasoned veteran. A 10-to-1 camper-to-counselor ratio allows players to get plenty of individualized attention and a higher amount of quality reps while focusing on the fundamentals of individual, group and team lacrosse skills in an upbeat, positive atmosphere.

Players will learn the fundamental aspects of dodging, passing, catching, shooting, individual defense, goalie play and faceoff technique. In addition, players will learn team skills like team offense, team defense, riding, clearing and transition play. There will also be guest appearances from professional lacrosse players, as well as cancer survivors eager to share their stories. All players will receive a HEADstrong Lax Tank and Laces and will also have the opportunity to win some incredible prizes.

“Our Nick aspired to be an educator, coach and counselor, and that burning desire to positively influence the community was only heightened during his battle with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma,” said Cheryl Colleluori, HEADstrong President and Nick’s mom.
“That was the driving force behind him inspiring athletes around the country with the HEADstrong Foundation. Our summer camp series is a tremendous way to share the invaluable lessons that he taught us both on and off the field. Our staff not only played at the highest levels, but like Nick, believe that giving back to the community is one of the most important things in life. These camps also allow HEADstrong to help those who are dealing with the same hardships and realities of cancer that we went through with Nick.”

Proceeds from the camps will support the HEADstrong Foundation’s Nick’s Houses, a family home in Swarthmore, PA that provide complimentary lodging to families seeking cancer treatment in the region. Click here to find out more about Nick’s House.
