Colleluori Lymphoma research fund, by serving family meals and offering outlets of entertainment for those receiving care at hospitals, by delivering comfort kits to newly hospitalized patients preparing for treatment or transplant and by lending an arm of support through their peer to peer advocacy group.

The blueprints for the were conceptualized by Nicholas “HEAD” Colleluori in 2006, while he underwent treatment for non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, which ultimately claimed his life.  Today, Nick’s vision is being fulfilled through the relentless efforts of his family, athletes and supporters across the country uniting in the fight against cancer.

“The HEADstrong Foundation is a remarkable organization fighting for a great cause,” said Brown University Director of Athletics Jack Hayes. “I was the Director of Athletics at Hofstra when Nick was a student-athlete there. I knew him well and I saw his fight firsthand. He was and continues to be an inspiration to many, and I am an thrilled that the Brown men’s and women’s lacrosse teams will help to raise awareness for this outstanding group.”

“On behalf of the HEADstrong Foundation and those affected by cancer we wish to extend our sincere appreciation and gratitude to Brown Athletics for their commitment to supporting our mission this season,” commented HEADstrong President Cheryl Colleluori. “While at Hofstra, Jack Hayes was instrumental in advancing the HEADstrong mission and we are comforted knowing that our Nick had such and impact that he now continues to support us within Brown Athletics. We hope that these awareness games will encourage students to continue to make a difference in the lives of those touched by cancer.”
