It’s time to get your Stache on. Be amongst the best lacrosse teams and players in the country as you face-off to see who will take home the coveted Stache Crown. Register today at www.laxstachemadness.com.
Over the next 6 weeks leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday follow Ken Clausen as he chronicles the madness with blogs and video available exclusively at www.insidelacrosse.com.
Created as a way to rally the lacrosse community in an effort to raise funds to support the HEADstrong Foundation and their relentless pursuit of defeating blood cancers, Lacrosse Mustache Madness has become tradition in the game. Be sure to get your lacrosse team onboard and begin growing out your Lax Stache now.
Submit your Stache shots to our Stache Gallery. Styles and creativity will be judged. Weekly prizes will be rewarded for the top 5 Stache shots which will be hand selected by the Stache Master himself Ken Clausen. This year the Top Individual Fundraiser will take home a Limited Edition Lax Stache Madness Iphone5 and the Top Fundraising Team will be outfitted in custom HEADstrong Backpacks from Scout by Bungalow.
The task is simple: 1) Stop shaving. 2) Begin Fundraising. 3) Receive great incentives. Lacrosse Mustache Madness encourages lacrosse programs and players from around the globe to join the Stache Movement by registering then either growing or drawing on mustaches or any imaginable shape or size in support of the HEADstrong Foundation.
The key to this fundraiser is informing your friends, teammates, classmates and anyone else that you know exactly why you are growing or wearing a Stache. Encourage them to join or give to your effort. Archive your progression as your Stache goes from stubble to full blown. Use social media to share your fundraising and stache growth.
Lacrosse Mustache Madness is open to both male and female lacrosse players. Everyone including youth players can join in the Stache Madness. The campaign will run from October 19, 2012 – November 30, 2012. Participants can register and create a fundraising team by clicking the “Registration” link on the homepage. www.laxstachemadness.com. Registration will be open throughout the entire campaign.
There is a $15.00 registration fee which gives you access to the HEADstrong Foundation’s Online Giving Module powered by FirstGiving, the Official Lax Stache Madness Reversible Tank and a 4-Pack of Promotional Mustaches! Once you are registered, begin growing and flashing your Sweet Stache! If you cannot grow a stache, we encourage finger staches or sticker staches.
Every week Lax Stache Madness will feature a new limited edition Stache product created by some of the best vendors in the game. Be on the lookout for Official Sweet Stache Gear from HEADstrong Foundation, Headwrapz, Lacrosse.com, Lacrossewear, Sock Guy, Stylin Strings, Warrior and many more. A portion of proceeds will benefit the HEADstrong Foundation.
Last year Syracuse University knocked off the two-time Lacrosse Mustache Madness Champion, University of Virginia, by raising over $13,000. Ben Kaminow’s successfully raised over $10,000 in 2011 to retain his Stache title.
Over the past 3 years Lacrosse Mustache Madness and the HEADstrong Foundation have established a strong alliance, uniting in an effort to raise blood cancer awareness. Together the Lacrosse Mustache Madness Campaign has successfully helped raise $200,000, allowing the HEADstrong Foundation to strengthen their commitment to providing resources and assistance to patients and families dealing with blood cancers. Ken Clausen was the first ever public spokesperson for the lacrosse rooted organization. Ken has been committed to advocating awareness of the HEADstrong Foundation since his days at the University of Virginia, where Lacrosse Mustache Madness was conceptualized.
During the last weeks of his life HEADstrong Founder Nick Colleluori grew out a mustache, it was something that he had always wanted to do. Nick succumbed to non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma on November 28, 2006. Lacrosse Mustache Madness is a memorial to Nick as much as it is a fundraiser reminding players to always have fun and enjoy life. This year the fundraising bar has been set at $100,000. Assist our goal and help us to break the Stache Record.
